Calling all art enthusiasts! Do you enjoy painting, drawing, sculpting or are you just art-curious? Visit the Florida Museum for after-hours SciArt Meetups and create art inspired by Florida nature and culture!

Offered in partnership with Santa Fe College Art Gallery and Wayfaring Painter, each meetup features brief presentations by a guest artist and/or scientist. Learn more about a collaboration by local artist Samm Wehman Epstein along with scientists Geena Hill and Sarah Steele Cabrera to create a coloring book on the endangered Miami blue butterfly. Participate in a line drawing demonstration for the opportunity to create your own coloring book images! The Tiny and Tough Miami Blue Butterfly Coloring Book is freely available for download as a printable PDF.

Artists must bring their own supplies. Pre-registration is required, as space is limited. Registration is $7 per person and participants must be 18 years or older.

Access includes:

  • Presentation by a special guest speaker.
  • A working studio space during the event.
  • After-hours entry to all permanent exhibits with the exception of the Butterfly Rainforest, Discovery Zone and Crocs exhibits, which will be closed.
