Are you passionate about conservation and ready to be a change agent on campus? Look no further than the Biodiversity Internship with the UF Office of Sustainability! They’re thrilled to offer a paid internship that provides hands-on experience and a chance to engage the campus community in our conservation areas.

🌿 Unlock Your Potential: This internship is a space to enhance your skills, explore your potential, and drive positive change. Collaborate closely with the Sustainability Program Coordinator, working alongside a dynamic team of interns and dedicated staff.

🌱 Hands-on Experience: Dive into habitat assessment and invasive species management in our targeted conservation areas. Gain invaluable insights into conservation management, community outreach, and develop your plant species identification skills.

🌎 Be a Change Agent: Make a difference by being a part of a larger pilot program to create a long-term invasive species management plan for campus. Interns will assist with initial habitat assessments and engaging our campus community through educational Green & Clean events.

Qualifications

  • Student interns are expected to be enrolled at UF for at least 6 credit hours per semester, have completed at least 1 semester, and commit to working a minimum of 10 hours per week for this experiential internship.
  • Active Campus Engagement: We’re seeking individuals who have demonstrated a strong connection with the campus community and a genuine commitment to making a difference.
  • Hands-On Habitat Experience: If you’re familiar with habitat assessment and plant species identification, you’re ahead of the game! Show us your knowledge and passion for conserving ecosystems.
  • Community Collaboration: Exposure to community engagement and working with volunteer groups is a plus. Showcase your ability to foster collaboration and teamwork.
  • Effective Communication: Strong communication and time management skills are crucial. We want team members who thrive in a collaborative environment and can encourage increased student engagement with our campus conservation areas.
  • Sustainability Advocate: Your dedication to sustainability is at the core of this internship. Let us know how your passion aligns with sustainability and the conservation of campus natural resources.
