Position description

This internship program is open to undergraduate students in a College of Agricultural and Life Sciences major or minor. In order to apply, students will be asked to submit a resume and to identify up to three potential faculty mentors with whom they would like to work.

Once the application is submitted, the potential mentors will receive an automated email containing the student’s information and describing how the faculty can initiate the matching process. Students are strongly advised to contact these faculty before or immediately after submitting their application to maximize their chances of securing an internship.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR CREDIT

ALS 4911 Supervised Research in Agricultural and Life Sciences
These two courses are graded S-U. Students can take 0-3 credits that can be repeated with a change in content up to 6 credits. If enrolling for 0 credit, there is no tuition charge. Some departments have these courses offered specifically for the major. Consult with your faculty supervisor for the research prior to enrolling.
ALS 4915 Honors Thesis Research in Agricultural and Life Sciences
Independent research in agricultural and life sciences leading to an honors thesis. Student are mentored by a faculty member. Projects may involve inquiry, design, investigation, scholarship, discovery or application. Prereq: junior standing, upper division GPA of 3.75 or higher and completed honors thesis proposal on file.
