Position description

Federal Work Study student to assist with outreach education in conservation of natural resources and wildlife in Florida.  Support UF/IFAS Extension programs, including the Florida Youth Naturalist Program. The position is an excellent opportunity for students to gain experience in “behind-the-scenes” management of outreach education programs.

Examples of job duties include logistical support of program activities, records and database management, social media and marketing, communication with instructors and host organizations, preparing and shipping course materials, event coordination, general office tasks, and other non-clerical duties. Most tasks are solitary and primarily computer-based.

Requirements

  • Current UF students only (undergraduate or graduate) with FEDERAL WORK STUDY award for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
  • Proficiency with computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and web-based event, teaching, and communication applications (Canvas, Teams, Zoom, Eventbrite).
