Expected Salary

The salary range is $12.00 – $14.00 per hour, commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience.

Position description

The Department of Geography is looking for a Federal Work Study Student to assist in social media content, special events, and projects. Assist with creating and managing social media content, news, and feature stories.

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Review and make suggestions to improve website, links, and corrections
  • Help assist with creating graphics
  • Make Social Media Posts/Content
  • Assist with special events and projects
  • Miscellaneous office tasks
  • Assist with visitors, staff, & faculty questions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Design/filmmaking skills (willingness to learn)
  • General office experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Strong written communication/writing skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as follow verbal and written instructions. Demonstrate professional etiquette in the office, data entry, and knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Access, Excel, Outlook, Publisher)
  • Knowledge of Canva/graphic design
  • Strong customer service skills on the phone and in person
  • Commit to a full academic year if possible
