Position description

The Department of Natural History is seeking a federal work-study student for an administrative assistant position. The administrative assistant will collaborate closely with the Natural History Department Admin in completing required duties and assigned projects. This role requires 10 to 12 hours per week in person at Dickinson Hall for at least two semesters. Must have availability on Fridays, 11 am-5 pm.

Duties include, but not limited to:

  • Event and meeting setup
  • Webpage updates and maintenance, including reviewing blog posts
  • Sort incoming mail, assist in processing outgoing mail
  • Common office activities including data entry, printing, scanning, copying, filing
  • Other general duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Federal Work Study award required. The award must cover Fall 2023, Spring 2024
  • Ability to work in person at Dickinson Hall, 10 to 12 hours per week. Availability on Fridays, 11 am-5 pm required. Other hours are typically scheduled Monday through Thursday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm
  • Must be able to work independently and with a team
