Position description

The application for the Spring 2024 Civic Scholars program is now open.

What is Civic Scholars? It’s a semester-long research course that offers UF undergraduates of all majors the chance to learn entry-level research — how to design a research question, choose a research approach, build relationships with key faculty, present your findings, and, most of all, make real change.

What will you learn? Students will gain an introductory understanding of quantitative and qualitative research approaches while learning about critical issues impacting Florida’s Gulf communities through the broad themes of civic engagement, public service, or public policy.

For Spring 2024, participants should be prepared to enroll in a 2-credit course  (IDS 4911: Civic/Gulf Scholars Research) instructed by Graham Center faculty, Professor Marianne Vernetson and Dr. Teresa Cornacchione(opens in new tab). The course is offered Tuesdays, periods 8-9.

Notifications of acceptance will begin mid-November.
