K-12 teachers and students: Dive into marine science topics with the second iteration of our Ocean Expert Exchange series hosted by Scientist in Every Florida School and the ANGARI Foundation.
Ocean Expert Exchange was originally launched in April as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Each event will be streamed live via Zoom and YouTube Live, and will feature a scientist’s brief presentation of a topic in their area of expertise followed by a 15-minute Q&A session. Viewers will be able to submit their questions through the chat function on each platform. All events are open to audiences of all ages, though the content was developed with a K-12 audience in mind. K-12 resources that address Sunshine State Standards will be made available to accompany each event.
The first event in the new fall series, Pioneering Underwater Camera Systems, will take place on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 4 to 4:30 p.m. At the event, underwater camera pioneer Casey Sapp will share his experiences developing cutting-edge underwater cameras, including 360°, virtual reality and 3D systems, in support of ocean science, awareness and conservation. Learn about the ups and downs of experimental design from the perspective of a camera designer/constructor.
Join us on these virtual experiences to deepen your knowledge of the marine world!
