Description

We seek creative, enthusiastic, hardworking interns interested in pursuing careers in plant or fungal ecology and/or conservation to join SERC’s Molecular Ecology Lab. Internships are a great way for undergraduates, recent graduates, and Masters students to get experience conducting scientific experiments in the forests and wetlands, and the lab.

As a science intern, you’ll gain experience in a wide variety of field and lab techniques, while also working on a specific independent project that relates to one of the projects our lab is currently involved in. Expect to work hard but have fun while spending time in the field and lab, collecting and managing data, analyzing data, and presenting your independent work to SERC’s research community.

Special topics of interest for Summer 2025 internships are:

1) Orchid-pollinator interactions,

2) Orchid mycorrhizal associations, and

3) Wetland plant responses to climate change.
