Position description
The Florida Museum of Natural History is looking for a Communications Intern to work 12 to 15 hours a week for at least two semesters in-person. Open until filled, the position offers great responsibility and experience plus a chance to build a strong portfolio with published clips. You will write press releases, attend outreach events, carry out administrative duties, database management, assist with media requests, write stories/blogs, create content and work closely with other departments within the Museum.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess strong communication and editing skills, knowledge of AP style, and be detail-oriented. Applicants should also have a working knowledge of Outlook, TEAMS, Photoshop, and WordPress or have the ability to learn these programs quickly. Sophomores or Juniors who have taken reporting preferred.
