Position description
The Bob Graham Center for Public Service at the University of Florida offers up to 15 internships through the Tallahassee Internship Program each spring to coincide with Florida’s legislative session. Placements include positions within the state legislature, the governor’s office and executive branch agencies, as well as various associations and lobbying organizations.
In addition to their intern duties, students take a course on Florida politics and attend a number of seminars (virtual or in person) featuring major political and policy actors in the state. Students can earn additional academic credit through online courses or independent study with UF faculty. Interns are required to live and work in Tallahassee during the full duration of the legislative session.
Qualifications
- currently enrolled University of Florida undergraduate student in good standing
- any academic major
- minimum 3.0 GPA
- demonstrated interest in public service, public policy, law, or government affairs
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- strong interpersonal skills
