Do you want to share science with K-12 students? Join the Thompson Earth Systems Institute (TESI) for a 5E Inquiry-Based Lesson Planning Workshop!

This workshop is a great opportunity for students interested in teaching or developing curriculum to learn about an evidence-based practice for helping young learners engage with science.

Speaker Laura Kleckner is a 2024 TESI Environmental Leaders Fellow, a UF Teach student, and a recent science student teacher at Parker Elementary School and PK Yonge. Through this workshop, Kleckner will share what the 5E Inquiry Model is and how it should be used to improve the learning process for students and promote the development of critical thinking skills. Participants will also get to experience a 5E lesson plan first hand (Hint: it involves a sweet treat). Lunch will be provided.

Date: Wednesday, March 12th, 2025
Time: 12 PM – 1 PM
Location: Dickinson Hall Seminar Room #371
