The Florida Museum of Natural History is seeking volunteers to help dig at the Montbrook dig site in Levy County for the month of November. The Montbrook Site is very productive and almost all volunteers will find some fossil specimens on their first day. The most commonly found fossils are bones from the shell of freshwater turtles and vertebrae, spines, scales, and skull bones of fish, including gar, catfish, snook, and drum.

Enjoy a beautiful 2-hour sunset birding cruise as we tour Biscayne Bay & scan the mangrove shoreline of the Bird Key rookery for brown pelicans, magnificent frigatebirds, and more than 30 species of birds. The UF Department of Agricultural Education and Communication is hosting Aquatic Science & Podcasting; Science & Skill Workshop on November 8 in Gainesville. Science & Skill workshops are designed to expose communicators to the latest research in agriculture and natural resources and provide opportunities to practice skills with new media and technologies to communicate science. Registration is $30.
