About
Hannah O. Brown is a journalist, social scientist, and instructor. She is a co-founder and director of The Marjorie, an environmental reporting nonprofit that covers stories in Florida. She teaches environmental science as an adjunct lecturer at the University of Florida, and she is also working to write the management plan for the new Nature Coast Aquatic Preserve for the Florida Department of Environmental Protection.
Hannah is a former Science Policy Fellow with the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine’s Gulf Research Program. She received her doctorate from the UF School of Natural Resources and Environment, where she researched the human dimensions of oyster management in the Gulf of Mexico. She has a master’s from the UF College of Journalism and Communications and a bachelor’s in psychology from New College of Florida. She has worked as a professional journalist since 2010.
