From July 25-29, eight Florida public high school teachers participated in a SEFS professional development workshop titled “Plant Pathology.” During this time, teachers were able to participate in NSF-funded research happening in the field of molecular and plant pathology.
During this weeklong PD, participants worked side-by-side with the Song Lab at UF running experiments and learning about the lab’s current NSF-funded research. Together teachers and scientists co-developed related lessons to implement in the classroom in the 2022-2023 school year.
This was the first PD in a series of four annual workshops, funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
