The TESI Award for Excellence in Broader Impacts recognizes University of Florida (UF) faculty, staff, and students for outstanding broader impacts work that helps communicate and educate about Earth systems science topics for the benefit of Floridians and beyond.

Who is eligible for this award?
Award recipients must:
1). Be enrolled as a student, or employed as staff, postdoctoral researcher, or faculty at UF.
AND
2). Have served as the leader or a significant contributor to an education & outreach project that communicates science related to Earth systems (air, water, land, and life). This project must have taken place in the past 3 years.
How are recipients selected?
Nominations are solicited during the UF spring semester. Self-nominations are permitted. A committee made up of TESI team members and invited judges will review the nominations and select the recipients.

What do recipients receive?
Award recipients will receive a plaque recognizing their achievement and have their names added to the award perpetual plaque in the TESI office suite. Recipients and their outreach work will also be featured on the TESI website and in the TESI newsletter. There is no monetary prize associated with this award.
