UF Thompson Earth Systems Institute Smallwood Graduate Assistantship

Join the UF Thompson Earth Systems Institute (TESI) in helping undergraduate students explore their interest in the environment and inspire the next generation of environmental leaders! 

TESI is hiring a 9-month graduate assistant (GA) for the 2024-2025 academic year. The GA will receive a 9-month, half-time (0.5 FTE) stipend of $26,000, in-state tuition (Fall and Spring semesters), as well as medical and other benefits afforded to UF graduate assistants. This position is funded by a grant from the Smallwood Foundation and the Thompson Earth Systems Institute. 

Duties: 

The Smallwood Graduate Assistant (GA) will serve as coordinator for TESI’s Environmental Leaders programs. Working closely with the TESI team, the GA will manage the Environmental Leaders Network (EL Network), a community for UF students of any major to explore their interest in the environment. The GA will maintain the database, promote the network, and help plan events that engage students in environment-related research, education, and civic engagement. The GA will also assist with the planning and implementation of Environmental Leaders Fellowship activities. Additionally, the GA will contribute to TESI outreach programming and other activities that support the Institute’s mission. This role requires strong organization, communication, and content creation skills, as well as a passion for environmental topics.
