3-D interpretation of the Big Bang

Adorned with several Hubble Space Telescope images, this art is based on the sciences of astrophysics, genetics, computer programming, human physiology, particle physics, psychology, and astrobiology. Its shape, size, and composition represent the spherical infinite-density Big Bang singularity, from which everything in this universe exploded out of at the dawn of time. Concealed are various metals and gases to reflect our true ignorance of what the cosmos hide. Painting with acrylics and watercolor, the artist illustrates a particularly elegant process. From the elements fused in the enormous energies of a stellar explosion, the DNA molecule is able to coalesce and program all of life as we know it. This process is reproducible across the universe in all supernovae. It architects the beauty of a rose, the shine of a yellow-tail fish, and that scary insect you want off your arm. The same DNA molecule that dictates the growth rate of a blade of grass has evolved over time to produce the awesome systems known today as human beings. Helical binary code (ATCG) plays on the notion of correlating computer programs with life. The anatomical self portrait is embellished in silver leafing with the scientific discoveries that fascinate the artist most.
