Bats are the true night shift\, taking to the dusky skies while we sleep\, eating millions of insects\, dispersing tropical seeds and pollinating desert flowers. \n\nDiscover their benefits to the natural world with bat expert Cullen Geiselman and ask her all your ‘batty’ questions! She will discuss: \n\nThe world’s 300+ species of nectar-feeding bats\nTheir adaptations and the plants they pollinate\nThe benefits they provide to ecosystems and people\n\n\n	Save the Date on Facebook	\n\nSchedule:\n\n2 p.m. – Bats: The Hummingbirds and Sunbirds of the Night Presentation by Cullen Geiselman\n\n\n2:30 p.m. – Audience Q&A\n\n\n	\n\n	\n	\n \n \n About The Speaker \n \n	\n	\n \nCullen Geiselman received her Ph.D in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Columbia University based on her research of nectar-feeding bats and the plants they pollinate in French Guiana. While writing her dissertation\, she co-authored a book entitled Seed Dispersal by Bats in the Neotropics with botanists from The New York Botanical Garden. She is currently chair of the board of directors for Bat Conservation International\, an Austin-based not-for-profit dedicated to the conservation of bats and their habitats worldwide. \n\n\nWhile the event activities are FREE\, there is an admission charge for the Amazing Pollinators and Butterfly Rainforest exhibits.
