SUMMARY:Frog Watch USA Workshop
DESCRIPTION:Frogs need your help! Frogs play an important role in food webs\, benefit humans by eating pests that transmit disease and act as indicators of an ecosystem’s health. Many frog populations have experienced dramatic declines around the world. \nAs a citizen scientist\, you can be directly involved in gathering information to aid in conservation by signing up for a free training workshop with the Santa Fe Teaching Zoo that monitors local frog populations. \nIf you’re interested in learning and identifying individual frog calls and are able to regularly visit a local wetland for data collection in Alachua or Bradford counties from February through August\, sign up now. \nTraining consists of one three-hour workshop and a certification exam offered at a later date. \nPre-registration is required\, and participants must be 10 and over. \nFrogWatch USA is an Association of Zoos and Aquariums citizen science program that offers people the opportunity to learn about the wetlands in their community and to identify and report local amphibian calls.
