Congratulations to our 2009 winners!
The purpose of the Pollinator Photography Contest was to educate and promote awareness of local pollinators through photography. Photos had to include at least one pollinator in the photograph, whether a bat, bee, bird, butterfly or moth.
The first place winners in each category received cash awards, with prize packages given to second- and third-place winners. All winners, including honorable mentions, received a ribbon commemorating this event.
An awards ceremony took place during ButterflyFest at 10:15 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009. The Florida Museum displayed all winning and honorable mention photos through Nov. 30, 2009. The photos also appeared in The Gainesville Sun on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009.
