The Museum will be closed Christmas Eve & Christmas Day and reopen at 10 a.m. on Dec. 26.

Starry Night 2018 was astronomical! Nearly 2,400 visitors joined us at the Museum on Nov. 16 and participated in activity stations indoors and outdoors. From kids’ activities in the Discovery Zone, to great science presentations in the central Denny Gallery, to the telescopes on the back lawn, we saw a lot of people having fun while learning more about our universe!

Many thanks to the clubs and groups that set up and showed off so many exciting things all evening, and special gratitude to our partners: the UF Astronomy DepartmentAlachua Astronomy Club, Santa Fe Astronomy Program and Kika Silva Pla Planetarium.

It was especially wonderful to welcome our speakers to this year’s event. James Albury is one of the hosts of the PBS Star Gazers show. We also enjoyed music with guitarist Jim Webb, and UF Astronomy Assistant Professor Paul Torrey gave an interesting presentation.

More photos from the event are posted on our Facebook page! A full list of activities is posted on our Starry Night event page.
