We were so excited for our first Pop-Up Museum at the Marston Science Library here on campus at the University of Florida. With our event just before Valentines Day, we went with a theme: “The Birds and the Bees”!
We brought some cool specimens and displays from our ornithology collection to show nests, eggs and bird skins with accompanying scientific labels. Our friends with the UF IFAS Honey Bee Research and Extension Lab brought the bees. How cool to see a working hive up close!
Dozens of UF students walking by between classes detoured to our activity tables to make electric light-up cards, check out our science, and snag some candy and stickers. This is just the first of many Pop-Up Museum events we have planned. Look for our education team at Marston Science Library with more science and more fun!
