Walk down memory lane with us to look at past special exhibits we’ve enjoyed here at the Florida Museum! While this exhibit has moved on to other places, we treasured the opportunity to learn and explore. Find out what exhibits are currently here at the Museum:

GET YOUR GAME ON!

This exhibit was on display January 25, 2020, through July 3, 2020*

We never had an exhibit quite like this! Visitors were invited to take on the role of eight different pollinator groups like bats, bees, beetles and butterflies in this immersive exhibit. “Players” would enter the maze to embark on educational missions as they navigated habitats like a desert, farm, and rainforest. They would level up as they learned about pollinators’ benefits to earth’s ecosystems, wildlife and our food supply. Visitors could also check out the game station outside the maze to learn more about pollination while playing parlor games with a twist such as mason bee mancala or invasive species shuffleboard.

We saw quite the competition among friend groups as they played the exhibit and learned about the role of pollinators in many habitats we encounter often. What a challenge!

*This exhibit was originally scheduled to be open until Sept. 7, 2020, but closed early due to COVID safety precautions.

Amazing Pollinators was made with support from the Florida Museum, Minotaur Mazes, and sponsored in part by contributions from Visit Gainesville/Alachua County, University of Florida Student Government and the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs.
