The Texas Lepidoptera Survey collection containing 71,753 spread, labeled with full data and identified Lepidoptera, including type specimens, was donated to the Florida Museum by Edward C. Knudson/ Charles Bordelon.

This was the most significant collection that was accessioned and incorporated into the main collection of the McGuire Center for Lepidoptera and Biodiversity during 2017. While the collection has specimens from around the world, it is most noteworthy for its exceptionally well-curated moths (including microlepidoptera) from the southwestern United States, especially Texas.

The collection was used to create The Checklist of Texas Lepidoptera

The collection also served as a source of many publications
