Exciting news! We are thrilled to share that the Florida Museum of Natural History plans to begin its expansion and renovation project. This much-needed makeover will modernize the museum’s façade, create a new state-of-the-art exhibition, refresh our existing exhibits, and expand the collector’s shop.
Big projects bring big changes, which is why Powell Hall and its public exhibitions will temporarily close starting March 24. 2025 and we anticipate re-opening in 2026. In the meantime, our membership program is adjusting to these changes to make sure you receive the full value of your membership during our closure.
What will my membership look like now?
While the physical doors of the Florida Museum’s exhibit hall will be temporarily closed, the museum will continue to have a dynamic, ongoing presence in the community, bringing new and expanded programming, engagement opportunities and member experiences beyond our walls.
What are the benefits to renewing my membership during construction?
Supporting your Florida Museum! As a member your gifts support all aspects of the Museum – from our thriving research initiatives to our inspiring public programs and exhibits. By continuing your membership, you are directly supporting and allowing us to continue our work while we are temporarily closed to the public.
After we reopen, we anticipate our membership rates increasing. If you maintain your membership during the closure, you will be grandfathered in at the current rate and will have the opportunity to renew before rates increase.
