This weekend, vertebrate paleontology collection manager, Richard Hulbert, discovered an upper molar of Hexameryx simpsoni, the six-horned pronghorn antelope. This is the first record of this species from the site! We now have two antelopes from Montbrook, the other being the dwarf pronghorn, Subantilocapra garciae.
To expand our faunal list even further, a sevengill shark tooth, Notorynchus sp., was discovered by Terry Tydings! In the same square, Terry also discovered an incisor from the dwarf llama, Hemiauchenia edensis, which may be the first for this species in Florida.
