My experience in the field
Digging at Montbrook was an excellent experience! Everyone is extremely friendly, and they made the hours fly by.
Day 1: I didn’t find anything, Day 2: I found a turtle epiplastron and a turtle peripheral, Day 3: I exposed the processes of a large mammal vertebra (possibly Gomphothere), and Day 4: I exposed more of a large mammal rib.
While volunteering at the museum exhibit I used a normal microscope and a digital microscope to extract bone fragments from the screenings originated from Thomas Farms. I was able to find a tooth and an axis vertebra as well as a snail shell and a very shiny unidentified bone.
