On January 28th, Victoria Arico discovered this fused carnivore toe while digging at Montbrook. Turns out it belongs to a canid (dog-relative) and may even belong to our ‘bone-crushing hyena dog’, Borophagus hilli. It’s the claw and middle part of the toe, fused together. These two separate bones usually break apart before being buried. This is a very rare find!
