Do you have cats? Do you use the big (25+ lb.) plastic buckets of litter? Do you want to help out our paleontology dig at Montbrook?

You might notice photos from our Montbrook dig are scattered with these big plastic cat litter buckets. Mostly the bright yellow Tidy Cat ones. Why? They’re very practical for transporting dirt, rocks, and possible fossil treasures. The buckets are designed to be sturdy and easy to carry when full, and our team find them invaluable to their work.

We use them so much, they wear out, and we’re looking for replacements. If you have any of these buckets sitting around and want to pass them along to our team, you can drop them off at the Florida Museum at Dickinson Hall (our research & collections building, not our main exhibits building). If you leave them with our front desk team in our lobby, we’ll collect them for the dig.
