In honor of this day, here is one of the Montbrook fossils collected last season. Do you know what it is?

An Alligator mississippiensis vertebra!

Specifically, the first vertebra of the tail. We know this because both sides of the centrum are convex – in the other vertebrae one side is convex and the other is concave.
