Collecting fossils at Montbrook is quite different from most other places, like Nebraska, where you walk around prospecting, discovering (if you’re lucky), and using rock hammers; no beach sand here! The discoverer of this oreodont (extinct mammal related to pigs and camels) skull was Montbrook volunteer, Bob Tarnuzzer! This fossil is a good 20 million years or so older than our Montbrook finds.
