In the Cellinese Lab we investigate the evolution, systematics and biogeography of angiosperms (flowering plants). Our work takes us to different continents and habitats, from island archipelagos in the Mediterranean to desert ecosystems in Africa and arctic and alpine environments in North America. We are enthused by morphological diversity, chromosome evolution, and population dynamics. Additionally, we are interested in semantic data integration and interoperability, tree-thinking and phyloreferences, and are developing tools that serve the biodiversity and phyloinformatics communities.
