Shell is ovate, decidedly inequilateral, strongly convex, and with a strongly curved umbo. Sculpture consists of very fine threads, although sometimes smooth.
Size: 40-50 mm.
Ecology: inhabits shallow-offshore marine waters (10-100 m), burrowing in silt below the sediment surface.
Geological range: Middle-Late Miocene (14-9 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Trinidad; Pacific – Panama and Ecuador.
