Tall tooth with a narrow crown, inclined distal edge, and a well-developed or rounded distal angular notch; medium to coarse serrations; straight crowns.
Size: 5-15 mm (height).
Ecology: inhabits tropical nearshore waters (0-30 m), feeding on bony fishes, cephalopods, and rays; known to reach 3 m in length.
Geological range: Miocene-Recent.
Geographic distribution: Caribbean and Western Atlantic.
