This shell is trigonal-ovate and inequilateral in shape, with one end strongly pointed. Sculpture consists of concentric ribs or frills intersected by flat radial threads.
Size: 45-60 mm.
Ecology: inhabits shallow marine (5-50 m) waters, burrowing in silt near the sediment surface.
Geological range: Early-Late Miocene (20-9 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama, Colombia, and Venezuela; Pacific – Ecuador.
