Shell is conical in shape, with a cup-like structure on interior surface. Sculpture of numerous coarse radial ribs and fine comarginal ridges (creates mesh pattern). These resemble true limpets, but are unrelated.
Size: 10-20 mm.
Ecology: inhabits shallow marine (5-50 m) waters, attached to shells and stones; filter-feeding.
Geological range: Late Miocene (11-8 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama, Trinidad, and Venezuela; Pacific – Panama.
