Shell is strongly humped (more so in adult whorls) and appears deformed (warped), with an irregular apertural lip. Sculpture is cancellate, comprising fine spiral cords and coarser axial ribs.
Size: 35-50 mm.
Ecology: inhabits shallow-offshore (15-100 m) marine waters; on sediment surface; predatory carnivore that feeds on polychaete worms.
Geological range: Early Miocene-Recent (20-0 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Jamaica, and Venezuela; Pacific – Colombia and Ecuador.
