Shell is slender, with the shoulder of lower whorls angulated, and a long and narrow aperture. Sculpture is cancellate, with fine spiral threads and narrow axial ribs.
Size: 30-45 mm.
Ecology: inhabits offshore marine (15-100 m) waters, crawling on sediment surface; carnivorous predator of predominately polychaete worms; enormously diverse family, though typically rare as individuals.
Geological range: Early Miocene-Late Pliocene (20-3 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama, Brazil, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Grenada, Haiti, Puerto Rico, Trinidad, and Venezuela; Pacific – Panama and Mexico.
