Shells are moderately inequilateral and convex. Sculpture consists of wide, upturned concentric ribs/frills.
Size: 20-30 mm.
Ecology: inhabits shallow-offshore marine (10-100 m) waters, burrowing in silt near sediment surface.
Geological range: Middle-Late Miocene (14-9 million years ago).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama and Venezuela; Pacific – Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico.
