Shells are ovate and strongly inequilateral, convex, and with a low and wide umbo. Shell surface is smooth.

Size: 30-45 mm.

Ecology: inhabits shallow marine (5-50 m) waters, burrowing in silt below the sediment surface.

Geological range: Late Miocene (10-9 million years ago).

Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama (endemic).
