Shell is inflated, with either angulated or rounded whorl shoulders, a wide aperture, and a short siphonal canal. Sculpture consists of broadly spaced axial ribs with blunt spines and numerous wavy spiral cords.
Size: 30-45 mm.
Ecology: inhabits shallow marine (5-50 m) waters, crawling on sediment surface; predatory carnivore.
Geological range: Late Miocene (11-8 million years).
Geographic distribution: Caribbean – Panama, Colombia, Costa Rica, and Venezuela; Pacific – Panama, Colombia, and Ecuador.
