GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Active duty military personnel and families receive free admission to all fee-based exhibits at the Florida Museum of Natural History from Memorial Day through Labor Day 2016 as a part of the Blue Star Museums program.
This is the fifth consecutive year the Florida Museum has participated in the program, a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museums across America. The program runs from May 30 through Sept. 5.
“The Florida Museum is honored to be part of the Blue Star Museums program again this year,” said Darcie MacMahon, the museum’s director of exhibits and public programs. “We can’t wait to shared the ‘Wicked Plants’ exhibit and our fantastic live butterfly conservatory with active duty military personnel and their families.”
Free admission is available to any active duty U.S. military – Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines or Coast Guard, as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service and National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members.
